Three IPTV companies will jointly invest 300 billion won.

On the 8th, KT, SK Broadband and LG Uplus announced on the 8th that they signed a business agreement to supply content joint strategy to protect the domestic media ecosystem and cooperate with content producers and broadcasting, dramas and film projects.

The first work was to jointly supply Choi Dong-hoon‘s ‘alien+in I’. In the future, it is expected to expand the scope of collaboration by securing exclusive resources such as IPTV original contents and intellectual property (IP).

The three IPTV companies are also considering cooperation on the IPTV service operated by each company, such as joint brand construction and joint promotions for the contents held by individual operators. Three IPTV companies believe that this cooperation is meaningful in terms of expanding viewing rights and strengthening collaboration with domestic contents producers and investment companies.


After the agreement, the three IPTV companies will invest in the Joint Substitution Committee. The company plans to expand collaboration with Korean films, drama producers and investors.

Kim Hoon-bae, head of KT Media Platform Business Division, Kim Hyuk SK Broadband Media CO, and Park Jun-dong, LG Uplus Customer Service Group, who participated in the ceremony, said, We will protect the media ecosystem and strengthen our source competitiveness through various types of open cooperation.
