Since the launch of the PlayStation 5, the fans demand the VRR support. VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) is a software technology that attenuates weam rhythm problems, essentially eliminating screen tears and other visual artifacts. Basically, this improves the performance of the games a little. It is not surprising that users want it, and fortunately, Sony has just confirmed that it finally arrives on the platform.

In a new post of the ps blog, the company announced that VRR will actually arrive on PS5 “in the coming months”. The feature will be supported on “HDMI 2.1 Compatible PC TVs and Monitors”, which are essentially the most modern screens.

Sony also explains the advantages: “The gameplay of many PS5 titles is more fluid because the scenes are made instantly, the graphics are more net and the input offset is reduced. »

The platform holder continues by stating that the previously published PS5 games “can be fully optimized for VRR via a game patch”, and that future titles can be launched with the management of VRR, which is logical.. If you wish, you can also activate the VRR even on games that do not fully support it. This can have varied results, but you can activate or disable it whenever you want.

Sony signs saying that more details will be revealed as we get closer to the arrival of the feature, including an initial game list that will be corrected to integrate the RRR.
