Italy will apply for the delivery of the former football rigor Robinho to the Brazilian authorities.
The former national player and striker of the AC Milan was sentenced to nine years in Italy, because in 2013 he should have raped a woman in a discotheque in 2013. A final appeal of the footballer had dismissed the Supreme Court in Rome in January. The public prosecutor’s office now sent an international arrest warrant and a delivery request to the Ministry of Justice in Rome. From there, the documents are led to Brazil, as the news agency Ansa reported.
However, the 37-year-old will probably do not have to compete in Italy because the South American country is not allowed to deliver it according to the constitution. Robinho can be arrested only if he travels abroad and reach the international arrest warrant.
In October 2020, Robinho wanted to give a comeback with his home club FC Santos, but pressure of sponsors and fans, the contract was exposed after only one week and then dissolved. In Brazil, audio cuts were published with spicy details and explicit statements, which should have used the Italian judiciary for the judgment. Robinho rejects the allegations.
